A vehicle is the playable car which it usually competes against other vehicles in its class, depending on the given racetrack and race type. The cars have been categorised into five different classes which are Vintage, ClassicModern, Performance and Off-Road. Except for Vintage, the player will be given a default car in each class whereas the rest of the cars are unlocked either through Ford Competition mode or Ford Challenge mode. However, this does not apply to the arcade version.

In the PC, PS2 and Xbox versions, the game consists of fifty-five vehicles. These include two cars from Vintage, fifteen cars from Classic, thirteen cars from Modern, fourteen cars from Performance and eleven cars from Off-Road. In the DS version, the game consists of twenty-four vehicles with the same number of classes. These include two cars from Vintage, six cars from Classic, five cars from Modern, six cars from Performance and five cars from Off-Road. In the GBA version, the game consists of nineteen vehicles with four classes excluding Vintage. This includes six cars from Classic, five cars from Modern, five cars from Performance and there cars from Off-Road. Lastly, in the arcade version, the game consists of four classes excluding Vintage as well. The cars that appear will vary according to different cabinets.[1]

Vintage[]

This class consists of vehicles manufactured during the earliest timeline of Ford vehicle production, somewhere between the early 1920s and early 1930s. They are the earliest generations of Ford vehicles, with the 1923 Ford Model T Sedan being one of the first mass-produced car made.

Classic[]

This class consists of vehicles manufactured during the early timeline of Ford vehicle production, somewhere between the early 1940s and late 1970s. During this era, there have been popular muscle cars made by Ford, such as the 1968 Ford Mustang and the 1968 Ford Mustang GT. In the PC, PS2 and Xbox versions, the default car is the 1968 Ford Mustang. In the DS and GBA versions, the default car is the 1955 Ford Thunderbird.

Modern[]

This class consists of vehicles manufactured during the more recent timeline of Ford vehicle production, somewhere between the late 1970s and early 2000s. In the PC, PS2 and Xbox versions, the default car is the 1999 Ford Racing Puma. In the DS and GBA versions, the default car is the 2000 Ford SVT Cobra R. Additionally, the 1999 Ford Mustang FR500 and 2005 Ford Mustang GT are classed here instead of Performance in these versions.

Performance[]

This class consists of vehicles designed for speed and have very high performance. In the PC, PS2 and Xbox versions, the default car is the 2005 Air Force Reserve Ford Focus.

Off-Road[]

This class consists of vehicles designed for off-roading on terrain such as dirt, gravel, snow or water. In the PC, PS2 and Xbox versions, the default car is the 1998 Ford F-150 4x4.

Unreleased[]

This category consists of vehicles which were never officially released. Currently, only 1 vehicle is known to exist.
