The 1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth is an unlockable vehicle in the Performance class, which can be unlocked in Ford Competition mode. The car is a homolagation version of the fifth generation 2-door Ford Escort hatchback manufactured by Ford Europe. During its time, it was used to compete in the Group A rally of the World Rally Championship (WRC) during the 1990s. Its most distinct feature is the rear spoiler that is popularly known as the "whale tail", much like the 1987 Ford Sierra RS500.
In the game, the car lacks in top speed but makes up for it with one of the fastest acceleration and great handling, making it very zippy around corners. It also faces a issue where it can bounce when it lands from jumps, therefore it is best to slow down before approaching them. On rare occurrences, it can also tip over and land on its side if it goes too fast.
