The 1955 Ford Thunderbird is an unlockable vehicle in the Classic class, which can be unlocked in Ford Challenge mode in the PC, PS2 and Xbox versions. In the DS and GBA versions, it is the default vehicle instead. The car is a 2-door convertible with the roof folded down based on the first generation Ford Thunderbird.
In the game, the car has one of the worst handling and a rather slow acceleration in its class. Despite that, it has one of the faster top speed. The car also shares the same performance as the 1964 Ford Galaxie 500.
